The I.C.E St Moritz
Where incredible mountains views meet the most incredible cars. It's about legacy not luxury.
The 2026 edition of The I.C.E. – International Concours of Elegance St. Moritz from January 30 to February 1 on the frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz, providing a spectacular setting for one of the major events on the international automotive calendar. The event brought together 50 classic and sports cars, selected for their historical value, rarity, and aesthetic excellence, attracting an intergenerational audience to celebrate the automobile as a cultural and artistic object.
On Friday, January 30, the international jury selected the Best in Class winners in the five competition categories. The Lancia Stratos (1976) won in the Legendary Liveries category, the Maserati 4CLT (1949) in Open Wheels, the Jaguar XJ220 (1993) in Birth of Hypercar, the Ferrari 750 Monza (1955) in Barchettas on the Lake, and the Talbot-Lago T150C SS “Teardrop” (1937) in Icons on Wheels. The Best Sound award went to the Pontiac Vivant (1965), also entered in the Barchettas on the Lake category.
Freestyle runs on the ice, an iconic moment of the competition, during which the vehicles drove across the frozen lake before the eyes of the spectators. This sequence, both spectacular and symbolic, is one of the hallmarks of The I.C.E. St. Moritz. At the close of the event, the Best in Show award was given to the Talbot-Lago T150C SS “Teardrop” (1937). The trophy, specially designed for The I.C.E. by architect Lord Norman Foster, was presented by him along with Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille EMEA.
The I.C.E., however, was not simply a concours d'élégance in the spectacular setting of the Engadine Valley. Beyond the event itself, the organizers wanted to invite participants to a cultural program centered around St. Moritz: an artistic and gastronomic journey through the Swiss resort, including its Segantini Museum, culminating in the discovery of Richard Mille timepieces in the timeless setting of the prestigious Badrutt's Palace, opened in 1896. One must be careful, however, not to be run over by a Ferrari Purosangue. At this time of year, there are as many of them on the streets of St. Moritz as there are black cabs on the streets of London.
New programm for 2026
Alongside the now iconic Barchettas on the Lake, captivating two-seater open cars, the Icons on Wheels and the Open Wheels racing cars, single-seaters from the 50s to the 70s, two new categories will make their appearance: Birth of the Hypercar and Legendary Liveries.
It's true that this event is not only a location but a lifestyle. The Ice St Moritz is about legacy and not luxury, historians, collectors and classic car engineers discuss the importance of vintage mobility and high-altitude driving innovation in luxury and heritage automotive experiences.
